"Il capitalismo uccide"

"Il capitalismo uccide", recitano alcune vignette su questo sito; e, secondo Repubblica di ieri, uccide in Italia più di quanto non faccia la guerra in Iraq. Oltre 100 proletari morti ogni mese sui luoghi di lavoro, senza contare del tutto la mattanza di immigrati che lo Stato etichetta come "clandestini", e che quando muoiono sul lavoro spesso i padroni abbandonano addirittura nelle discariche. Una vera strage permanente, che sempre di più si lega alle condizioni determinate dal forte precariato e alla schiavizzazione di migliaia di immigrati "clandestini". Una dimostrazione grave e drammatica della possibilità e urgente necessità di unificazione delle lotte proletarie, a partire da rivendicazioni legate alle condizioni di vita e di lavoro, che, intervenendo sulla caratterizzazione generale del proletariato intero in questa fase, rende possibile una spinta unificatrice e generalizzatrice della battaglia, con un profilo che inevitabilmente assume connotati politici.

The Russian Revolution remains a landmark event in history. For the bourgeois historians, the October Revolution is thought to be a tragedy that set back the achievements of the “democratic” February Revolution, and allowed the Bolsheviks to wreak havoc on their citizens and the world. For the Stalinists, the events of 1917 paved the way for the birth of the USSR, which they point to as a prototypical example of “socialism in one country”. In reality, the February and October Revolutions were both part of the same proletarian revolution.

Temo che la guerra in Iraq faccia più di 100 morti al mese (solo nel mese di ottobre le vittime civili sono state 3.709,e in settembre 3.345) ma per il resto condivido le argomentazioni di Reed.

Hai ragione, Pietro, ho scritto male nel riportare la notizia. E' da intendere "marines uccisi a Baghdad", che erano il termine di paragone dell'articolista di Repubblica. Chiaramente il punto è il resto.
